Winning Strategies & Bold Predictions for anything and everything fantasy football, all before that final flush!

Best Ball or Managed League… Which is the right Fantasy Football league for me?

Hands on… Hands off?

Decisions, decisions. What kind of Fantasy league do you want to be apart of? DO you want to be hands on and micro manage every aspect of your team? Or do you want to remove that decision making entirely? This is the first decisions every manager must make before drafting their team. Well, what’s the difference between the two? Let me explain.

Best Ball Fantasy league

This is the Roth IRA of Fantasy Football. Set and Forget is the name of the game. All you have to do is Draft your team and everything else is taken care of. This type of league eliminates all the guess work. No more trying to figure out which player will perform the best any given week. Best Ball is a Fantasy Football format where the best possible lineup is automatically selected for your team. At the end of each week, after all the games have concluded, the highest scoring players are automatically placed into the starting lineup spots. This is an ideal Fantasy Format for the manager that does not want to meticulously think of every possible way they can set their lineup for the week. Stress free managing, 100%.

Managed Fantasy Football League

If we are sticking with the investing theme from the prior paragraph, a managed football league would be like being a Day Trader. If you choose this type of draft, make sure you keep an eagle eye on all the players you have drafted. Information is king when it comes to a managed league. The last thing you want is to be left bag holding because you started a player who is hurt. A lot more research goes into this type of format. You will find yourself meticulously looking for any updates that might give your team the edge that week. Trust me, I have been there. Nothing is more satisfying setting the perfect lineup and dominating your matchup for the week.

The decision really comes down to how much work you want put into your fantasy team. Another factor can be what type of managing style is enjoyable to you. At the end of the day, we do this because it’s fun.
